Katie Toupin
After years on the road with Houndmouth and a brief hiatus while getting settled in Los Angeles, Katie returned to writing. "Moroccan Ballroom" is entirely live, recorded during a session at the Village Studios to film some of her newly-written songs. She was so in love with the outcome that she realized she had to release them: the result is "Moroccan Ballroom," a totally authentic expression of Katie, with no overdubs or editing.

Before "Moroccan Ballroom," Katie toured for many years with Houndmouth, which she formed with friends at the age of 21. Houndmouth was signed by Rough Trade Records and earned international acclaim, and Katie found herself playing notable festivals such as Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits Festival, and Lollapalooza, as well as playing late night slots on David Letterman and Conan. Katie co-wrote the song "Sedona," which reached number 1 on Billboards AAA chart. She released two records with Houndmouth and toured internationally up until her departure from the band in March 2016. Now, with "Moroccan Ballroom," Katie embarks on her next chapter with more soulfulness and freedom than ever before.
Havelin
Born and raised in small town Alberta, Havelin was always drawn to the bright lights of the entertainment world. Beginning his acting career at 16, after only two years Havelin had left home for Toronto in order to pursue both acting and music.
Havelin released his debut EP, Alright, Alright, Okay, in 2016. Lyrically taking cues from the early influences of Dan Mangan, Tom Waits, and Father John Misty, his words are straight from the heart and his music is kept simple, honest and cutting right to the core.
In 2018, Havelin caught the attention of multi-JUNO award-winning producer Gavin Brown. The two immediately began working on a follow up to Alright, Alright, Okay, a project that has captured the exciting growth and maturation of Havelin’s style and sound. The first single, “The Further I Go”, will be released on Brown’s label Inside Pocket, via Warner Music Canada, on February 1st, 2019.

"The Further I Go” is a reflection on a place becoming a feeling. It's about returning to the place you grew up- the place where you really became a person- and realizing that it's moved on without you. Your old friends have either left or changed, and there's no way to get them back. Your family's adjusted to life without you, and your childhood companion, the family dog, passed away. It's home but it's not yours anymore.
