The Holydrug Couple
The Holydrug Couple
It was 10 years ago, in a house on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile, that Ives Sepúlveda Minho and Manuel Parra started playing music together, and The Holydrug Couple was effectively born. A decade later, they’ve made Hyper Super Mega, an album that represents the culmination of everything they’ve learned in their years as a band.

If Hyper Super Mega feels like a classic pop record, that’s because Sepúlveda and Parra spent much of the recording process thinking about the classic pop records of the ’60s and ’70s. Masterpieces by bands like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and Fleetwood Mac were all reference points, not always explicitly in sound, but certainly in spirit. The duo approached the mythos of the “classic album” from their own inimitable psych-pop perspective, hoping to make a record that felt authentically like The Holydrug Couple that could fit into the same canon. By that criterion, Hyper Super Mega is a massive success. All the elements that made the band’s previous albums Noctuary and Moonlust great are distilled to their purest essence and rendered in obsessive detail.
Jackson Boone
Jackson Boone is a songwriter who quietly emerged from the misty magic of Portland, Oregon in late 2013. With the help of producer Riley Geare (Unknown Mortal Orchestra), bassist Randy Bemrose (Radiation City), Violinist Patti King (Radiation City), and a few close friends, Jackson recorded his first solo album, Starlit, in the basement of a green house in NE Portland. Immediately after Starlit’s release, Boone, his five piece live band ("Jackson Boone & The Ocean Ghosts"), and Riley Geare, packed up their equipment and took off to the Oregon Coast, where they spent two weeks tracking a new record by the beach. The byproduct, Natural Changes, was self released in September of 2015.

Jackson Boone’s music has been featured by KEXP, Stereogum, Impose Magazine, and other publications. With his band, Jackson Boone & the Ocean Ghosts, he has performed at festivals like SXSW, Treefort Music Festival, Pickathon, and the CMJ Music Marathon. The band has also toured through Portland mainstays like the Bunk Bar, Mississippi Studios, and Doug Fir, as well as venues across the country.

In 2016, Jackson Boone and The Ocean Ghosts returned to the Oregon Coast to track their 3rd full length studio album, Organic Light Factory.
