The instrumental post-rock ambience of Unwed Sailor has been guided by the vision of Johnathon Ford. Born in Oklahoma, Ford had been a member of Roadside Monument and Pedro the Lion. He formed Unwed Sailor in Seattle in 1998 and has since been based in other cities including Chicago, Washington, D.C., Tulsa and New Orleans.
Early Day Miners

Abronia

Consisting of two guitars, bass, tenor saxophone, pedal steel, and one giant drum (no drum set here), Abronia makes music that takes inspiration from Spaghetti Western soundtracks, spiritual free jazz, drone metal, various tribal music, Tuareg guitar bands, 80's goth, outlaw country, Krautrock, 60's psychedelia, and the arid landscapes of the American West. Both delicate and enormous, Abronia has carved out its own singular sonic space within the the broader psych rock universe.
Their debut album was released on vinyl through Portland's Mississippi Records associated, Water Wing Records, and on CD by the British label, Reverb Worship, in the summer of 2017, earning praise from critics around the world and getting consistent airplay on stations such as the legendary WFMU.
Fresh off of a songwriting retreat at an isolated ranch in Oregon's high desert Abronia is armed with new material and will begin recording its next album within the next few months.
