This soul-drenched sound doesn’t quite sit in a neat box of influences. Hailing from NYC’s Lower East Side, with West African heritage, Fritzwa’s lifelong experience has been constantly enveloped in artistic inspiration; from Broadway to poetry, jazz to traditional, childhood dance classes and piano lessons, to balmy summers listening to Hot 97.

She say’s, “I see art in everything,” and it’s something she translates into her music — including her self-written album, Avenue |A|.

Whether she’s finding painful beauty in break-ups, or creating melodic soundscapes from the sounds of NYC’s subway, Fritzwa’s creativity and musical talent shine through in a beautiful way.
David Barber With Radio Phoenix
David Barber is a hip hop artist and jazz musician. As a vocalist and MC he draws inspiration from rappers such as Common, Mos Def, and Black Thought. His lyrical content and delivery are not only unique and refreshing, but actively work against any preconceived notions one might hold toward the genre of hip hop. David's sound meshes perfectly with the accompaniment of the Portland trio Radio Phoenix. David Barber and Radio Phoenix released an album together in July of 2017 and have been playing and performing around Portland and Southern Oregon since. Radio Phoenix is a three piece group consisting of Benjamin Spriggs (piano) Alden Zac (bass) and Lee Hauser (drums). Their sound is heavily geared toward jazz influenced, J Dilla inspired hip hop grooves, with a neo soul flare.
Trent Baarspul
Trent Baarspul
An Oregon native, Trent has always been deeply involved in music. He is a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer/arranger who fuses jazz with modern popular styles & world music to create his own emotive and melodic style. Spending his early adulthood in Minneapolis, MN, he became a sought after and well respected member of the thriving music community there, co-establishing and writing for the Jazz-Fusion band New Sound Underground, as well as being featured with countless other artists. After releasing his debut album Awakenings in 2015, Trent returned to Portland and has quickly become an in-demand guitarist in the Portland community. His quartet is his first musical offering since his return, and they bring an energy infused with the intensity of the experimental jazz that inspires Trents writing.
