Bambi and Cole met on a basketball court, filming a music video for a band that didn’t have any music. After dating for six months, the two married under a blanket of smoke from the season’s forest fires.

Reptaliens quickly evolved from a conceptual collage of ideas into the bedroom recording project for the duo, captured with analog synthesizers, electric guitars, and melodic bass lines, and tape delayed vocals telling stories of science fiction, obsession, and transhumanism.

As long time, active participants in the Portland music scene, Bambi and Cole call on a number of talented musicians to guest on songs throughout the entirety of Reptaliens’ recordings and live performances. The band embraces the captivity of their audience with their sincere and theatrical performances.
Okey Dokey
You can't fully appreciate the long history of recorded music without taking the time to look at the breakups. Whether it's for good or for the season, Okey Dokey is the product of that natural reformation that occurs when musicians part ways. Fronted by visual artist Aaron Martin and The Weeks' guitarist Johny Fisher, these two former band mates made the rare decision to revisit creating music together in Fisher's small cabin about 20 miles outside of Nashville, TN. What occurred was a well blended mix of everything they loved about classic Motown combined with a dash of their psychedelic storytelling roots. With the record and touring band including a revolving group of musicians from bands such as Wild Child, The Weeks, Rayland Baxter Band (Practice), Morning Teleportation, Ron Gallo and Sol Cat, their upcoming debut album 'Love You, Mean It' has a little bit of treasure for every type of listener. —American Songwriter (US)
Shy Boys
Shy Boys
Hailed as “The Beach Boys on Robitussin”, Shy Boys (brothers Collin & Kyle Rausch, Konnor Ervin, Kyle Little & Ross Brown) were bred in the dankest basements of Kansas City, MO as a group of ill-fitting squares in a scene of punks and weirdos. We find these great friends now, still living & loving in KC, trading instruments while creating melodic, happy-sad tunes to make your heart swell. Shy Boys’ sophomore album will arrive later this year on Polyvinyl Record Co., bringing with it big, melancholic vocal harmonies of a past’s present, amidst these strange and bittersweet future daze.
Founded in January 2011 in Kansas City, MO by songman Casey Burge (vocals, guitar) and longtime associates Lia Gist (vocals), James Taylor (guitar), Evan Houston (bass), and Ryan Johnson (drums). Minden relocated to Portland, OR in June 2012, where local players Papi Fimbres (percussion) and Sam Adams (occasional keyboards) were brought into the fold.

In both regions, a reputation quickly developed through their live party vibes, spreading via year-round weekly open BBQs, a self-released LP (Exotic Cakes), music videos, EPs, and appearances on various compilations, web series, festivals and showcases.

The flamboyant and distinct energy is seductive enough, with its timeless emphasis on solid grooves and classic chords filtered raw through group moods ranging from funk & soul to lounge & bossa nova. The real riches, though, are in the memorable hooks and vocal harmonies, centered around bold lyrical takes on power dynamics & human tendencies, dressed up as sexual-spiritual monologues.
