Solillaquists of Sound
Solillaquists of Sound
Local Central Florida cultural icon, Swamburger, is a well-known arts and music contributor/advocate whose impressive resume and creative endeavors have made Orlando an exciting place to live and visit for nearly two decades. With his ever-expanding list of job titles and talents, his creative focus has been set on the exciting new steps and developments of his record label, Second Subject Recordings.

Orlando Weekly’s crowned “King of Nightlife,” and Solillaquists of Sound frontman, Asaan “Swamburger” Brooks, has been discovering, developing, cultivating and introducing audiences to amazing artists and unknown talent for over ten years. Both his record label, Second Subject Recordings, and his promotional brand, “Swamburger Presents…” – which partners with The Social, Foundation Presents & Florida Music Festival – have been responsible for blessing Central Florida with such touring national acts as Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, DJ Abilities, Abstract Rude, and Onry Ozbourne, as well as introducing it to unknown local talents like E-Turn, SKIP, Acey Wasuto, Chakra Khan, and more.

Swamburger’s chief role and responsibility within the label has been the discovery, development and production of singers, songwriters, emcees and producers that he feels have the potential to become stars-in-their-own right over time. Through the years, those creators – while under his tutelage – have paid their dues and garnered their own followings and respect from the local scene through strictly independent releases and without larger distribution platforms. His main goal has been to ensure that this collection of artists are battle-tested and able thrive in larger and more competitive markets, while also having strong roots in their own communities.
Marv Ellis & We Tribe
Marv Ellis & We Tribe
Conscious, genre defying, & inspirational NW Hip-Hop. A uniquely fresh blend of Stand-Up Bass, Saxophones, Turntables, ASR-10 Drums, & Marv Ellis Lyricism. Five masters uniting together to form the WE TRIBE for one purpose; to have fun and bring forth the art. Their latest album is packed with thought provoking ideas, big beats, beautiful jazz, and represents the honest and raw Northwest lifestyle. Their high energy show moves the crowd and illuminates the room with positive vibes.

Subconscious Culture
Subconscious Culture, the dynamically eclectic six-piece hip-hop band, home-grown in Portland, is certainly on the up and up and bringing no shortage of energy with them.
Leading the charge with engagingly expressive vocals and practical orchestration is Erin Miller aka Seth (as known from his solo project), formally of Hypfonic in the UK.
You’ll find Matt "Phunky" Brewster on the bass who holds down deep-pocket grooves with slick slaps and pops, which may be locally familiar to fans of his previous band Ancient Sol. He currently also plays with Laryssa Birdseye Music, Lance Kinnaird, and more.
Jonathan Moore is a locally sought after, multi-faceted musician who provides the keys with smart and jazzy chops. He’s currently also playing in King Black Acid and Streetcar Conductor.
The guitar player, Nate Ashbaugh, has a foundationally intuitive style and sense of placement for his methodical melodies and chords.
Last but not least, Sean Kenny brings his focused rhythms and stylings as organic as a heartbeat, tying together the body that makes Subconscious Culture. He currently also plays with Laryssa Birdseye Music and Lance Kinnaird
Special guests include Emily Etherington aka Eminent of Kinetic Emcees and Laryssa Birdseye.
I bring a different brand of hip-hop back into the music scene. I use lyricism, Storytelling, Singing, Humor and the ability to chop.
