About Mississippi Studios

Located in Portland’s Historic Mississippi District: the acclaimed former neighborhood Baptist church turned recording studio turned music venue and home of the best burgers. The venue’s three properties can also be rented for private events and recording sessions. The studios prides itself on offering the best sound in an intimate concert setting. We also operate ‘BarBar’ a cocktail and burger lounge which has two large outdoor covered patios.

Cocktail and Bar Bar burger lounge / patio open daily (serving lunch), seven days a week from 12 noon until 2am. Happy hour is Sun-Thurs 12-7 and Fri/Sat 12-6. Minors allowed until 9 pm in the restaurant/patio.

ALL shows are 21+ unless otherwise noted on our show calendar. Most shows at 9:00pm, doors/will-call at 8:00pm unless otherwise noted on our show calendar. Shows are general admission with a standing floor and seated balcony unless denoted as ‘seated’ on the calendar.

Tickets are required to enter the main venue; however, the patio and main bar (Bar Bar) are open to the public. The venue hosts a wide range of local, regional, national, and international acts; covering almost every music genre. Over 500 performances occur each year with over 1500 bands, djs, and comedians performing.

Professional engineers are also available for recording projects – both video and/or audio. The venue can also be rented for private events such as corporate parties and weddings or for music videos and commercial shoots.

Hours of Operation & Happy Hour

We are open seven days a week from 12:00pm – 2:00am(serving lunch). Tickets for all Mississippi Studios shows are available at the bar with no fee. Happy hour is Sun-Thurs 12pm – 7pm & Fri/Sat 12pm to 6pm. We accept all major credit cards. To-go food can be ordered by calling 503.288.3895 x2.

Google Offers

Google Offers featured Mississippi Studios & Bar Bar on June 10, 2011. Purchasers of this Google Offer should receive a paper voucher which can be used for up to 1 year for $20.00 worth of food, drinks, merchandise, and/or advanced tickets sold at our bar. They can be used during happy hour; however, full prices will apply. They can be used to purchase tickets at our bar for any upcoming show or for multiple upcoming shows but they CANNOT be used to purchase tickets online. They have NO cash value and we encourage customers redeeming their Google Offer to tip our staff on the full amount, pre-discount.

Tickets

The bar box office sells tickets to all shows with no fee. The bar box office sells tickets to all shows from open to close; however, for ‘night-of-show’ tickets or ‘same-day’ tickets, sales will end at approximately 6pm and again available once doors open, subject to availability. ALL SHOWS ARE 21+ unless noted otherwise. Bar Bar and patio concerts are ALL AGES until 9pm. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. Will-call and print-at-home online purchases are non-transferable.

NIGHT OF SHOW (‘door’)TICKETS: Tickets are typically available at the venue night-of-show, when doors open, unless the show is denoted as sold out on our show calendar. Night-of-show door tickets are CASH ONLY. Two ATM machines are available on premise in the bar and in front of the venue.

Box Office and Show Times

Our box office / will-call will open approximately one hour before show time. All balcony seating is first come / first serve, unless specifically ticketed as such. For shows marked ‘partially’ or ‘mostly’ seated, all seats are first-come, first-serve. If you are a guest and require special seating accommodation, please email: house@mississippistudios.com prior to day-of-show.

All shows are 21+ unless stated otherwise and all guests must have a valid ticket. All bags are subject to search and NO outside food or drink is allowed in the venue. Minors are allowed in our burger lounge daily until 9pm. Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited. Large bags / backpacks are prohibited. All other smaller bags are subject to search by security.

Families & Minors

Our restaurant and patio is all ages until 9pm – kids/families welcome but will need to be off premise by 9pm. The venue is 21+ unless noted otherwise. There are no exceptions granted to allow minors in the main venue unless a show is specifically marked ‘all ages’ on our website.

Mississippi Studios is located in the heart of Portland’s historic Mississippi District in between Failing and Shaver. We are a ‘healthy’ 9 block walk from the MAX Yellow Line Light Rail Albina/Mississippi Stop. Visit www.trimet.org for bus schedules. We are also a $8-$10 cab ride from City Center. Ample bicycle parking is also available in the district.

Your alternative private event and wedding venue, Mississippi Studios is the perfect setting for an intimate and unique ceremony or reception experience allowing for a variety of eclectic mixes and blending well with most styles.

We have State-of-the-Art sound equipment and a warm ambiance, and will make your day a truly memorable experience.We can provide as much, or as little, as you choose for your wedding event: Flowers, Cake, Catering, Ceremony and a Reverend, as well as beverages and musicians.We can also recommend caterers and photographer/videographers to make this virtually a “one-stop” location. The the venue’s three properties offer four distinct spaces which can be rented for your event ranging from 25 – 400 people.

Information for Bands and Performers

Load in is behind venue in the alley. Plenty of parking is available nearby; headliners can use the parking spaces in back of the venue. You CANNOT park in residential driveways behind the venue. Bands MUST be on time for their load in / sound check per our house advance. Mississippi Studios takes pride in giving all bands a proper sound check. Many of our shows have 3+ bands on the bill, therefore it is imperative you are respectful and arrive at the time you are given or you forfeit checking.

We are located in a residential neighborhood, therefore our doors must remain closed at all times outside of load in and load out. No smoking or drinking in the alley. NO EXCEPTIONS. You must go to the front of the venue outside Mississippi Avenue or on our side patio to smoke. Please respect our neighbors.
We have one greenroom off stage right currently with a private bathroom. Wifi is available throughout the venue and the password is posted in the green room.

We have a merch area in the front lobby. Artist must provide seller. Artist takes 100%

Please provide guest list names prior to doors to the house manager.
