Sarah Shook And The Disarmers
Sarah Shook And The Disarmers
We are excited to announce the signing of Sarah Shook & the Disarmers. Bloodshot will release the group’s latest album Sidelong in April, followed by a brand new album in 2018. The band will hit the road over the next few months in support of the album. They made their official Bloodshot live debut at SXSW in March.

North Carolina’s Sarah Shook sings with a conviction and hard honesty sorely lacking in much of today’s Americana landscape. Always passionate, at times profane, Sarah stalks/walks the line between vulnerable and menacing, her voice strong and uneasy, country classic but with contemporary, earthy tension. You can hear in her voice what’s she’s seen; world weary, lessons learned—or not—but always defiant. She level-steady means what she says. Writing with a blunt urgency—so refreshing these days it's almost startling—Sarah's lyrics are in turn smart, funny, mean, and above all, uncompromising. Sly turns of phrase so spot on they feel as old and true as a hymn. Anger that's as confrontational as it is concise. Humor that's as wry and resigned as a park bench prophet.

The Disarmers hit all the sweet spots from Nashville’s Lower Broad to Bakersfield and take Sarah's unflinching tales out for some late-night kicks. At times, it’s as simple and muscular as Luther Perkins’ boom-chicka-boom, or as downtown as Johnny Thunders. The Disarmers keep in the pocket, tight and tough.

Sarah Shook & the Disarmers have been covered by the likes of No Depression, Independent Weekly, and Rolling Stone, with the latter including the group on their July 2016 list of "10 New Country Artists You Need to Know."

This is a new voice for a new country.
Jenny Don't & The Spurs
Jenny Don't & The Spurs
Jenny Don't and the Spurs are Portland's hottest new roots-country four piece. Featuring Jenny Don't, Kelly Halliburton (P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S., Pierced Arrows), Christopher March and Sam Henry (Wipers), Jenny Don't and the Spurs bring a variety of musical styles and a formidable wealth of experience to the stage. Drawing from a long background of playing in some of Portland’s best and most well known independent bands.

While the sound of the Spurs is original and draws from deep wells of personal experience, the band pays stylistic homage to the greats of the genre – Patsy Cline, Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams Sr., Loretta Lynne, and all the rest of the real players from the 1940s and 50s - an era where the lines between Rock’n’Roll and Country were blurred, where the likes of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins could tour together and nobody would bat an eye.
