Elder
Elder
Elder is the definition of a work in progress, as the group continues to meld the familiar sounds of Sleep's colossal riffage with their ever-evolving vision of soaring melodies and sonic soundscapes. Listeners will find themselves locked into the trio's lengthy epics, which toe the line between the chasms of classic stoner metal and mindblowing psychedelia.

Since the release of 2010′s Dead Roots Stirring, their second full-length record for MeteorCity Records, Elder has continued to push their sound in more dynamic and inspiring directions, while still holding true to their original methodology: all heavy, no filler.
Intronaut
Intronaut
Los Angeles post-prog masters Intronaut return with their 4th and most impressive full length album to date; Habitual Levitations. Once again yielding thunderous, tribal drum beats, hypnotic bass patterns, angular guitar riffs and the trance-like vocals of Sacha Dunable, Intronaut pick up where they left off on 2010's Valley of Smoke, though this time around, see the songs a bit more refined and cultivated. The band toured heavily in support of Valley, including a stint opening for Tool in the US, which may explain the more polished sound. Intronaut has always teetered close on being a jam band. With one of the greatest rhythm sections in music (drummer, Danny Walker and bassist, Joe Lester) it would be hard not to just light up and see where those two take you. Experimenting on stage, knowing exactly where each band member is going in the song and thus really becoming one as a band is what Intronaut has achieved and what producers John Haddad [Exhumed, Phobia] and Derek Donley [Bereft] managed to capture perfectly on the new album. With a US tour supporting Meshuggah and Animals as Leaders set prior to Habitual's release, Intronaut will surely continue to mature and solidify themselves as one of the best metal bands around.
Mustard Gas & Roses
Norska
Norska
In the winter of 2009, four musicians who had played in the same circles for many years decided to make a record. The combination of their eclectic influences, writing styles, and tastes, came together to produce a sound that moves and motivates them to explore new territory within their collected creative consciousness. The band works to create music that expresses the range of the human condition and experience by combining crushing, down-tuned riff assaults with intricate vocal and guitar melodies, and stunning leads. The music seems to play the band as they surrender to its will. Their sound spans many genres, while they intend to break themselves with their mix of progressive guitar work, doom, and all out metal energy.

Norska released their self-titled EP in the winter of 2011 to much acclaim. The band has been seen playing the stages of the Pacific Northwest, and has managed to reach out world-wide through word of mouth, the online community, and self-directed promotion.

The band's members have deep roots in many musical traditions. The Rieseberg brothers, Dustin (lead guitar) and Aaron (bass), have written and performed music together since they were able to pick up their instruments. Their collaboration and chemistry anchors the band. Jason Oswald (drums) is an accomplished life-long vocalist and guitarist (playing guitar for the band in an early line-up), who's decision to try his hand at the playing drums a few years ago has proved to be a driving force for the band. Jim Lowder (vocals, rhythm guitar) has grown to develop an up-front voice that laces the band's melodies and punch together, while maintaining that his vocals are simply the fifth instrument.

Their most recent release, 'Equinoctical' (a Fister/Norska split) came out in Feb. 2014.
SÓL
Formed in 2013 in Portland, Oregon, Sól is a 5-piece post-metal band that explores the beauty and fear of the natural world. Comprised of brooding heaviness and atmospheric calm, their sound reflects the dense and expansive landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
