Máscaras is the psychedelic instrumental trio of Papi Fimbres (Sun Angle, Paper/Upper/Cuts), Carlos Segovia (Deer or the Doe, Orquestra Pacifico Tropical) and Theo Craig (aka the guy who books the Rontoms Sunday Sessions). It's a band par excellence in that it was never intended to be a band. It was a jam with themes that became "songs" that live and breathe, leaving room for the unexpected. Each performance is a ritual to which you are invited.
Holding cult status in Portland for nearly a decade, Copy has been crafting solid dance tracks that contain trace elements of disco, electro-pop, hip-hop, IDM, film music, kraut, and modern classical; yet the result is always very recognizably Copy. Songs are melodic and subtle enough that they find themselves on repeat on your headphones long after the dance party has ended. Chalice Agenda, Copy's fourth full length album for Audio Dregs, continues the tradition of deep analog bass with chunky, upbeat rhythms, coupled with interplaying synth melodies that weave together patterns that can be both wistful and baroque, or soaringly bright and driving. He has done remixes for Ratatat and Starfucker as well as numerous others, official and unofficial.
